Bredai:
Bredai is a native of a world whose culture called her to the Warrior class, at
an occasion when such a class was necessary. Sh'ey is in her mid-twenties, and
pursuing her studies off-planet with occasional visits home to make certain that
her (physical) twin, Dariele, and her system aren't getting themselves into
trouble. Not that they are unable to take care of themselves; contrary, sh'ey
just wants to join in the fun.
Sh'ey is wary and untrusting of singlets, and tends to judge first and ask
questions later when it comes to them. On occasion, sh'ey even doubts their
existance or whether they were merely cast out into a body on their own as a
sort of group punishment for them.
There is a dark faction of Bredai's system that is constantly trying to take
control, but a system of checks and balances keeps the control from being
totally lost at any given time. No one wants to know what will happen if this
control is lost, but all contribute energy trying to keep it from occurring.
(Side note: Heh... sh'ey would be the feminine bodied form of they-as-a-
single-bodied-group that popped into my head while writing this, so I'm
going with it.) |

Dariele: The external appearance of Dariele is that of a young woman in her mid-twenties with no definable racial features and long blue hair that she often wears in a braid. She attends a local healing college, and for what little protection she feels she needs, she carries a staff that she made in her first year at the college.
Within, anything's possible, and anyone's possible. Often, those within are bound with people in her twin sister Bredai's world. But then, their worlds are joined, too; so what matter is it? |
|
Frey: This character bears no
resemblance to Summer Court. Shh. :P Frey (the group-name), party
in Rebekka Cowen's body, is a hotel worker part-time and an editor
the rest for some of the local rags. They spend most of her time in
cafes and clubs. |
|
John Smith: John Smith seems a likeable enough fellow in his mid30s. Probably played by the same guy who plays Jack Flanders for the ZBS Radio Theatre (http://www.zbs.org).. But there's something eerie about him.. the way he never seems to change. Doctors are skeptical that such a bizarre condition could exist. Imagine, going through life with only one single personality! How does he stand it? How can he possibly handle daily life stressors on his own? How can he restrain impulsive behaviour without others to ride herd on him? Can he be trusted with a job, with children, behind the wheel of a car? Is his condition a benign aberration, or a threat? Are there others like him? Well, we're about to find out..... |

Laric: Body of Kyth Chandler, but recently quite controlled by Laric and his supporters--the Seraphs, which are often called the Malachim when the far-kinder supporters of Kyth himself are out and about, are entering a bit of a darker mood for themselves of late.
They have very large wounded spots over the subject of singlets, having been raised partially by one who wanted them to be the same, and then falling into a number of relationships with mid-conts who were closer to the singlet scale. Having recently come off another breakup, the Seraphs aren't at all inclined to sympathy for poor John Smith... although, since they're a healthy plural group, they're still capable of being polite and good company. Bless plurality. |
|
Laurem: Natives of an alternative dimensional planet, almost a paradise world where violence is unknown, Laurem frontrunners inhabit a young male Cherokee Indian body. Members of various guilds and cultures on the homeworld try
their hand at frontrunning. They range in temperament from moody and
sombre to lively chatterboxes. They might make decent allies for
Jack (woops, John -- still thinking of him as Jack Flanders!, as
they are firmly committed to the idea that singlets deserve as much
in the way of rights and respect as normal people. |
|
Naomi: Naomi Seaberg is a friendly,
straightforward young woman who lives in a powerful male body. Most
of the male frontrunners in this system are gentle artists or
scholars -- one teaches night classes in metaphysics at Crosby
University -- while female frontrunners prefer manual labor and
strenuous activity. Naomi herself works for Park Services. House
name unknown. They have a beautiful little world of green fields and
wildflowers and exquisite bird-filled groves that are great to study
in, and majestic mountains that just beg to be climbed. The tragedy
of their lives is their birth brother Lionel, who is a singlet and
bewildered by the mystery of his existence. |

Rosalind
Green: A self-proclaimed singlet, Miss Green is a flamboyant attention-
seeker who flaunts her bizarre behaviour before the media. Her avowed goal is to
prove that singlets are fully capable of functioning in the real world, yet her
tabloidish antics do not encourage most observers to believe this possible. In
private life, Miss Green is a pleasant single mother of two children, one of
whom is also a singlet. |
|
The Rufi: Rufus is the (alleged)
head of a cat household. Collectively, they are known as the Rufi.
They share the body of an average sized buff-orange tabby cat.
The Rufi are often seen where least expected, getting in and out
of trouble like cats will -- but trouble gets compounded by several
cats sharing one body. |
|
Xing Yun: A very slow-paced group of all ages and races. Xing Yun's people tend to have one frontrunner at a time for extended periods, but you are always free to ask for someone. Their subjective space is shared with three other systems -- those of their mom and two sisters. Jim Ryan, a young black construction worker in their system, has been dating Naomi Seaberg for about a year and wants to marry her. Xing Yun's relatives are not so sure about them marrying someone with a singlet in the family.... |
